I'm a former creative chief of a New York ad agency. I was an illustrator and cartoonist for the Baltimore Sun when I first started out. Learned quickly that advertising pays better, except for the googolishly tiny number who manage to make a career out of cartooning. But I have always been an illustrator at heart, I guess. Lately, with the current political climate, the temptation to register my opinions through illustration has proved to be irresistible. It is, as they say, a target-rich environment.
